October 9th, 2006Media scare mongering on internet security
This mornings Metro (south west edition) had an article going on about the high numbers of internet hacking attacks on PCs left switched on while connected to the internet, but the article was badly written, while it did mention “unprotected PCs”, but did not say that the PC had to be “directly” connected to the internet or even mention??that for as little as ??40 can purchase a router with integrated firewall which will provide and excellent first line of defence againt 99% of the??hacks which normally take out PCs which are left swicthed on !??
I??can only assume a similar article appeared in one of the tabloids, so i will probably spend this evening being bombarded by calls from various friends and family on the matter,????
